For Cassius's 2nd Birthday we visited Peppa pig world at Paultons park in romsey! Not a massive drive but 2 hours of fun in the car with my newly 2 year old, who was newly potty trained was a little stressful, considering he had been on many long haul flights, this seemed to get me in a sweat, just as much! I guess that ultimate stress can be applied to any situation right?
We had just opened birthday presents and left at 9am to miss the traffic, I took a few travel worthy gifts in the car and sat in the back seat, next to Cass, to avoid him screaming at be from behind...one thing that kept him occupied for a good while was the travel aquadoodle mat, just a little water needed to 'ink' the pen, and we were away, we drew nanny, our dog otis and all of cassius' friends!
Our 2 year old spent the day telling everybody in the park 'it's my birthday, I'm 2 today!' He was very pleased with himself, and even more so that he was spending it a peppa pig world! The rest of the park we didn't explore too much as it was more so for slightly older kids..the peppa pig section was specifically for small children, under 5.
The queues were very short since it was a monday during term time, the beauty of having a not-yet-at-school child, you can save a lot of money and time! Most other kids there were around the same age...be sure to make great use of the time before your little ones go to school!
We paid online, and downloaded the ticket, we saved a few pounds for doing so....it was £27 each, quite expensive if you are taking such a young child, it's free for children under 1 meter, but there are options for families to save extra. I would say children of 3/4 may enjoy it more, but cassius was fully aware of where he was and what he was doing, talking about all of the characters (he's been a chatter box from day 1!).
The longest we waited was for the george and peppa meet and greet, it was completely worth it and cassius was very patient, i would say no longer than 20mins. The themed rides were all fantastic, again short queues and age appropriate throughout.
We went inside peppa's house and had photos with peppa and george, the excitement on his face when entering was priceless! We managed to get on all 7 peppa themed rides, had some lunch in between, we were finished by around 2pm so I would allow at least 3hours but around 5 on a busy day...a full day if you have more or older kids as there is more to explore, there is also the option to stay at the park.
On the way home we popped into gunwharf quays, cassius had a full 3 hour nap as he was so exhausted! He even slept in the transfer from car seat to buggy and back!
Everything in the park is very modern and up to date, it is spotlessly clean, there are a few different places to eat, there is the option to hire a car style buggy, young kids are happy to jump in as they look great! Rather than the boring old buggy, it is around £5 to hire! A great day out, but try to go during term time if you are able!
